Calculation of materials

The area of ​​each panel can be viewed on the packaging. Their required number will be equal to the area of ​​the ceiling, divided by the area of ​​one panel. When calculating the required amount of materials, be sure to add a margin of 15%, which will be used for trimming and marriage. So, on the ceiling you need 10 PVC plates, adding a stock, we get 11.5 panels (rounding off is advisable to spend in the big side).

To calculate the number of required profile, the ceiling area should be divided into strips, standing apart from each other at a distance of 60 cm: along them and mounting guides will be installed. In addition, a rigid profile for perimeter skinning is required. If desired, the metal profiles can be replaced with a wooden crate, but the useful life of such a structure will be much less.

Ceiling baseboards are sold in 3-meter segments. To calculate the required amount, you need to divide the length along the perimeter by 3, the resulting number rounded to the larger side.

Before starting work, the walls and ceiling must be checked for hidden electrical wiring. To do this, you can use a special detector or invite a professional.

In no case can you glue the plastic panel directly on concrete - no ventilation between the panel and the ceiling is unacceptable.

In order to prevent the appearance of an unpleasant odor in the room associated with the appearance of fungus or mold, the surface of the ceiling should be treated with an antiseptic solution. Then you need to determine the height of the suspended ceiling. In this case, you need to take into account the dimensions of the lighting devices, which will be installed directly in the panel. Usually a hanging ceiling made of plastic is installed at a distance of 6-7 cm from the rough surface.

Further along the perimeter of the bathroom, using a pencil level, a horizontal line is drawn, which will serve as a guide for fixing PVC profiles.

At the level of the drawn line, it is necessary to fix the special corners under the ceiling base with screws. After fixing the corners along the perimeter of the line, guides are installed on them. Mount them directly to the ceiling of the ceiling with the help of long self-tapping screws, and the screw must be driven so that its cap is at the level of the dash on the walls and guide corners. The guides are attached in increments of 60-100 cm.

After this, it is necessary to prepare plastic panels. Using a metal hacksaw, they need to set the desired size. Cut the slab about 5 mm less than the length of the room. To obtain a perfectly flat edge, it must be sanded with sandpaper. After that, remove the protective film from the panels. Be careful not to crumble the panel.

In predefined locations, holes are made for the lighting fixtures. They can be made as usual with a sharp knife, or with a special attachment to a drill.

Take care of the supply of electrical wires for the ceiling in advance. After the lighting fixtures are inserted in the grooves prepared for them, you can begin installing the panels. Mount them across the profiles. The first panel slides against the wall to be on the profile on three sides. The last 4 side is fastened to the frame using self-tapping screws. The following panels need to be fastened the same way, but one of the sides is fixed on the previous panel.

So you need to fix all the panels except the last one. Before fixing it, it is necessary to level the ceiling with the help of guides by twisting or loosening the screws. The ceiling level should be the same everywhere.
