Self-leveling floors are becoming more popular every day, and deservedly.
Self-leveling floors are aesthetic, reliable and have a long service life.
This happens for several reasons:
- Self-leveling floors are beautiful, they allow you to embody a variety of design solutions and have a number of excellent qualities that distinguish them among other floor coverings.
- The flooring will look great both in a city apartment with a modern design, and in a small private house in a rustic style.
- The service life of such a floor can be several decades, and the surface is easy to care for and long retains excellent decorative characteristics.
The flooded floors are quite simple in arrangement, and it is not difficult to make such a floor independently, it is only necessary to know the steps and carefully observe the recommended actions.
As a base under the filling floor, a concrete screed is perfect.
Before proceeding to pour the filling floor, it is important to seriously approach the preparation of the foundation. It is from the degree of preparedness of the foundation that the quality and service life of the finished floor will depend. As a base for the floor, you can use a concrete screed, a ceramic tile or a wooden floor covering. The preparation of different types of grounds must be approached differently, but the most important condition is thorough cleaning of the surface from dust, removal of greasy traces (if any), paint residues, glue and other contaminants.
Any of the bases should not have cracks, chips or crumbles, it should be dense and durable. If there are cracks, they need to be puttied, projections and irregularities - align. Carefully prepared and leveled foundation is the pledge of the ideal bulk floor.
It will be good to make the base treatment with a primer for better adhesion of the filling floor and the substrate. In addition, the primer will be an additional means for removing cracks and pores (if the base is a concrete screed). If there are pores in the concrete screed, the appearance of the planned floor can be affected, since the air inside the pores rises during pouring, which can cause defects in it.
Mixture for work
After careful adherence and the passage of all stages of preparation, it is possible to proceed with the arrangement of the floor covering. In carrying out the work at this stage, the following tools can be useful:
Tools for bulk floors.
- capacity, containing a volume of more than 30 liters;
- a drill with a special nozzle for mixing the mixture;
- wide enough spatula;
- a roller with needles for aeration.
After 12-17 hours after the treatment of the main surface with a primer, you can proceed to pour the floor. If you work with a dry mix for the first time, you should carefully read the instructions for the correct preparation of the mixture.
To determine whether the mixture is ready for application to the base, the mixer nozzle is lowered to the very bottom of the container with the mixture, then the mixer is raised above the container. If it slides from the mixer with a thick jet and contains no lumps, that is, it is homogeneous and dense in structure, then it is ready for use. It must be remembered that the consistency of the mixture in the preparation of new portions should coincide in each of the mixtures. Then you get a uniform beautiful sex.
Filling the floor is more convenient with an assistant. One pours the floor, and the second prepares the solution.
Pouring the floor
Technology of application of a filler floor.
The mixture is ready. Now you can fill the base layer. For this, the solution is poured onto the surface and distributed evenly, in small portions, with a spatula or squeegee. It is more convenient to use a squeegee, because with its help it is possible to control the gap and the expected thickness of the mixture distribution.
To make the floor, it is necessary to put on special shoes - krakostupy, equipped with special studs on the sole.
A very important step is the removal of air bubbles from the mixture. To do this, you need an aeration roller with needles. Such rollers are provided with spikes of different lengths, for working with a filling floor of different thicknesses. Rolling the roller over the surface of the mixture is about 20 minutes. Moving around the room should be in paintballs.
After filling and leveling, the floor must be completely dried. After a day you can walk on the floor, but completely the floor will dry only after a week.
Brilliant modern self-leveling floors will give the room a special style and beauty.
