The ceiling made of plastic panels is becoming increasingly popular due to its fast installation, aesthetic appearance and simple operation.
The ceiling made of plastic panels is original, aesthetic and easy to use.
There is a misconception that plastic panels are harmful to health, but it is not. This material is manufactured using strict technology that ensures complete environmental safety.
Make the ceiling of plastic panels can even an amateur who does not have professional construction skills. With this cladding, the ceiling looks neat and stylish.
The color scheme of the panels is surprising by its diversity. There are panels with colors that mimic marble, wood and natural materials.
The device of plastic crate.
Plastic panels, in addition to beautiful appearance, have a number of other advantages, such as:
- strength and ductility;
- water resistance;
- anticorrosive properties;
- resistance to changes in temperature and humidity;
- non-exposure to direct sunlight;
- high speed of installation;
- simplicity in operation;
- light weight;
- lack of preparatory work. For a plastic ceiling, it is not necessary to remove the previous coating and level the surface.
Thanks to these characteristics, plastic panels can be installed in any premises, even on a loggia, kitchen and bathroom. This material will not deteriorate from high humidity, as well as from a possible flood from the upper floors.
To make a ceiling from plastic panels, you need these materials and tools:
- PVC panels;
- metal profile GKL the size of section 27х28 mm;
- profile vertical racks GKL with a cross-section of 60x27 mm;
- hangers straight;
- dowels, nails, self-tapping screws;
- plastic skirting board;
- glue Titan;
- hydraulic or laser level;
- scissors for metal;
- stationery knife.
The framework for the installation of the panels must necessarily be metallic, as the tree quickly decays and decays.
Algorithm for performing assembly work on the lining of the plastic ceiling:
- On the perimeter of the room a profile of 27x28 mm is installed. This profile is cut with metal scissors.
- The profiles of 28x60 mm are exposed with cross-pieces with a pitch of 50-60 cm and are fixed to the guiding profile, and also to the ceiling by means of straight hangers.
- Cut out the plastic panels and fix them from the corner. Panels are mounted with screws to transverse profiles.
- In the same way, mount the remaining plastic panels.
- Crop the protruding edges of the panels and glue the foam plinths, tightly pressing them to the ceiling and walls.
- Remains of glue are removed with a dry cloth.
Mounting the frame
Installation of plastic panels.
The frame is made only of metal, which is used for suspended ceilings from gypsum board. Wooden racks should not be used, as from a temperature and humidity drop such a structure can be deformed.
And for a bathroom with high humidity, a wooden frame can not be used! This is due to the fact that this material under such conditions is prone to decay.
To precisely set the guide profile around the perimeter of the room, you must use a level to mark the plane line. With respect to these marks, the frame will be erected.
The guide profiles are attached to the walls by dowels or self-tapping screws, which depends on the material of the walls. The step between the hardware should be 400 mm, but due to the ease of construction it can be increased to 600 mm.
Then proceed to laying the cross guides, which provide rigidity of the structure, and also serve as a base for fastening the plastic panels.
These profile ribs can be fastened both along and across the width of the room. The preferred option is the fixing of the guides along the wall with the window. With this installation joint seams will be less noticeable. It should be noted immediately that the arrangement of plastic strips will be perpendicular to the direction of the frame profiles.
Bearing metal profiles are cut to dimensions equal to the parameters of the room, after which they are fixed to the main guides using self-tapping screws. These stiffeners should be located from each other at a distance of 500-700 mm. A step equal to 600 mm is considered the most optimal for the frame.
To impart rigidity to the frame, the supporting profiles must be additionally fixed to the ceiling surface. Depending on the height of the suspended ceiling, fixing the frame to the ceiling can be produced in different ways. If the distance between the rails and the ceiling is small, then U-shaped suspensions are used, at special distances, special hangers with spokes are used.
Mounting to the frame

When the frame is finished, it is necessary to install a starting strip along its perimeter, which is fixed from the bottom of the metal profiles. This profile is set on 3 sides: two long and one short. The opposite side remains open.
The next stage will be the direct fixing of PVC panels. To do this, cut the plastic strip to the desired size and insert it into the starting profile. This is done as follows: first the strip is inserted into the starting profile on one side, then on the other, and then the long side along the starting strip that goes along the width of the room.
After that, the plastic panel should be fixed with screws to the load-bearing profiles of the frame. The same method is used to install subsequent panels, except for extreme. It is installed without a starting strip, by gluing with white silicone.
The last step is the fastening of plastic baguettes. They are attached with glue or silicone. Having wiped all surfaces from chips and excess glue, the plastic ceiling can be considered finished.
The ceiling made of PVC panels is an excellent solution for creating a modern and cozy interior!
