Repair in the bathroom is always accompanied by certain difficulties for a person without experience. As a rule, the greatest labor is spent on installation of engineering pipes, and also on installation of a sink. After that, the bath is already installed and tiles are put, which is considered the final stage of the repair.
The screen allows you to hide the pipes under the bathroom and gives the room a finished look.
But if you look at the decorative side, then this is not entirely true. After all, all the communications that are under the bathroom are very clearly visible. And this suggests that there will always be a lot of dust and garbage collected. And outwardly it will look ugly. Therefore, you should think in advance about installing a special screen under the bath.
The screen under the bath is a kind of cloth, which can be made of almost any material. Most often it is plastic or plasterboard. The advantages of such screens are that you can at any time remove the structure in the event of a pipe leakage or in order to get something out of the bath.
Materials and tools

Install the screen for a bath with your own hands is not so difficult, if you follow the instructions for work. But in advance it is necessary to acquire the necessary materials and tools, without which it will be simply impossible to manage. Such tools include:
- Screwdriver Set;
- a set of screws;
- construction plummet and level;
- a hammer;
- wooden bars;
- rubber thin gaskets.
In addition, you need to purchase the screen itself. To do this, first make all the measurements, and then take a choice. You can both buy a ready design, and make it to order. In both cases it will not cost too much. You can even cut a screen of the required size yourself by making markings and bringing a piece of drywall or plastic with a jigsaw or a construction knife to the desired size.

Experts are inclined to purchase a ready-made frame or to install it on order. At the same time, they prefer sliding structures, which make it possible to easily open the space under the bathroom. As a result, your screen will not only be decorative, but also practical. After all, you will be able to store there everything you need without hindrance.
As a rule, today there are two main types of such screens. They differ in their design characteristics. The first option is characterized by the fact that it has a bottom of the small wheels, with which the screen wings simply travel on a separately installed rail at the bottom. The second option is not so mobile, so from the bottom it is simply fixed to the stop in the floor.
There are, in addition to these two, another version of the screen, which is attached under the bathroom. It works on the principle of Roman curtains. That is, the design, if necessary, simply rises upwards, squeezing the accordion, as a result, the space under the bathroom opens up to the eye. It closes by lowering the screen. Usually such a screen is made of special plastic, but can be made of a material similar to modern blinds.
Preparing the screen

So, all the work begins with the fact that the space under the bathroom and around it is thoroughly cleaned of debris and dust. After this, it is necessary to wait for complete drying of the floor, if a wet cleaning was carried out. After all, excessive moisture in the bathroom is completely useless.
Then remove the screen under the bath from the package and try on the main panels to the place where they need to gain a foothold. And here you can have two problems: plinths and pipes. Both of them are solved, if you approach the process competently. As a rule, on the screen it is necessary to make the appropriate cut-outs for the pipes, having measured them before that. It is convenient to produce this with a construction knife, jigsaw or milling cutter, depending on which material your screen is made of.
With regard to skirting, the cutouts are the same. But in case you intend to dismantle the plinth, it is advisable to do this before installing the screen, so as not to make unnecessary cuts in it. After all, you will make it easier for yourself to work and save the decorativeness of the screen.
For greater convenience, the screen can be equipped with doors.
An important stage is the finishing of the cutouts. If it's drywall, then you need to polish these places and putty with a thin layer of acrylic putty or sealant. If it is plastic, sandpaper is polished, and then the edges are trimmed with decorative tape or flexible corner so that they are not so sharp.
Ideally, if you made a custom-made screen, the design of the right holes is calculated in advance, as a result you will have completely ready-to-install panels that do not need any additional cutouts.
Mounting on legs

And now as for the installation of the screen itself. Let's analyze this briefly for each type of screen, so that you do not have any additional questions. In general, the installation is a simple process, if the assembly instructions are attached to the panels of the screen assembly and installation.
The installation of a conventional screen on the legs begins with the insertion of knobs into the special holes in the panels, which serve both as holders during installation and as a functional element during the operation of the screen. After securely fixing them at the very bottom of the panels, holes are screwed into the holes. Typically, the height of the legs can be adjusted. So, first you need to twist them as much as possible so that they are short, almost at the bottom of the screen. The screen is ready!
Now you will need wooden small blocks that will be attached to the support walls for your screen. The bars should correspond to the height of the screen. At the same time, their thickness should be such that they do not interfere with the fixation of the panels themselves. Fastening of bars from a tree is made with a screwdriver to the wall, only first you need to make markings, drill holes there and drive in dowels. In this case, the more powerful the bars, the more dowels and screws there are.

If you use non-integral wooden bars, you will need to connect them for reliability. It's easy to do, using the thinnest corners or smooth straps-connectors. The connection must be made along the lateral line so that in the end it remains on the side of the fastening line of the screen itself.
Next, direct mounting of the frame panels is carried out. For this, the same screwdriver is used. Places of fastening on panels are marked out in advance if they have not been marked out by the manufacturer or the manufacturer. Before you mount the screen, you must put a thin rubber band under the mount. This will make the connection more reliable, and also protect the panel of the screen from the appearance of possible cracks or other defects during installation under the bath. When the screen is installed, you will only have to lower the legs by scrolling them to the desired height.
Roller and Roman screen
With regard to installing a more modern screen with wheels, the whole process is similar. At the same time, there is no need to fix the side wooden bars on the walls, since the doors will still be driving. It is advisable to do this only on one side when one part of the door is planned to remain stationary. Only to the panels, instead of the legs, the wheels are attached to the screws, and the rail is additionally mounted on the floor to move the doors of the screen. In this case, the rail, as a rule, should be fixed in its beginning, middle and end. This is done with screws. But you can use a special adhesive for installation.

Many owners do not want to spoil the floor, so they prefer to fasten the screen under the bath on the rail to the side wooden bars. The toga of the bar can be installed not on the entire height of the screen, but only attach to the wall of their small pieces below, and already for them to hook the rail.
If you are going to make a screen for a bath on the principle of Roman curtains, then there is nothing special at all. Usually this kind of design is fixed to the bath itself from underneath the bottom of its upper part. But it's better to entrust this work to specialists with a good tool, as you can easily spoil your bath, especially if it's not metal, but acrylic.
You can make an additional fixation on the upper base of the screen at the side walls, fixing there as described above, small pieces of wooden bars. At the bottom of the floor do absolutely nothing. The only thing that can be required is a so-called lock, which will fix the closed panel in the form of a curtain. But this requires only some of the most expensive screens.
Manufacture of fabric or oilcloth
There are to date and other, cheaper and simpler options for bath screens. They are made simply of cloth or glue. They do not even need to be bought, as all you can do with your own hands within two hours.
Instructions for attaching the end shield to the bath.
To do this, simply cut out the right size cloth (oilcloth). In this case, note that the piece on the width should be larger so that the fabric was collected.
On both sides of the bathtub, on top of the upper base, make one hole in the wall, screw in the dowels and screw in the screws or not too large carnations.
Cut off the necessary clothes line, for which you need to bend and sew a cloth or oilcloth of the future screen.
After that, the rope is simply stretched over the studs and fixed. The screen will be simple, but quite cheap and practical, since you do not have to make any additional holes.
So, the main points of how to mount the screen under the bath are considered.
You could now make sure that the installation process is not anything complicated. This suggests that it is quite realistic to do everything yourself and not to overpay extra money.
