To paint the walls in the bathroom should be treated with special care. With an improperly prepared surface, the paint will begin to exfoliate and serve a very short time. Paints in the bathroom should be used high-quality and moisture-resistant, as the humidity there is very high. The material must have good wear resistance, since cleaning in such a room is often done.
For a bath it is better to use water-emulsion or latex paint, they are best able to withstand moisture.
The most suitable for a bathroom is a water-based or latex paint. These types of paints best repel water, dirt and excellent wash.
Bathroom paint can be of two types: glossy (shiny) and matte. Gloss visually expands the volume of the bathroom, but it is sufficiently branded, because even small scratches and dirt immediately become visible on it.
The walls of one tone look dull enough and depressingly, this can be corrected by painting each wall in different colors. You can paint the part of the wall with which the bath touches, in one color, and the remaining walls in the other. One condition must be observed: the shades of colors should be close to each other, otherwise your bathroom will look ugly. This is especially important if the room is small.
If the area allows, you can visually divide the bathroom into different functional areas. Walls can be decorated and painted art.
Do not draw vertical bands, they visually narrow the width of the walls, and their height is increased. The same effect, but on the contrary, is achieved if the bathroom is painted with horizontal lines. If you need to use lines for the exclusive purposes of a conceived design, you can limit to one or two vertical stripes, but that their width is not more than ¼ of the wall.
The first step is to prepare the walls for painting. If you paint on an unprepared surface, the paint will not just separate with time, but it will also look unaesthetic. If the wall is uneven, with scratches, all the flaws will be visible on it.
Before starting to coat the walls, they need to be cleaned well from the old coating. If it's oil paint or nitro-enamel, it will not be easy to do the job. There are modern surface treatment tools that allow you to bypass this laborious process by the side. It will be enough to apply to the wall "Betonokontakt" - a modern tool, which includes strong glue and sandy crumbs, it fits very well even with glossy paint. After "Betonokontakt" dries, and it happens about a day, you can go to the putty walls.
For painting you will need:
- paint roller (fur);
- brushes - 2 pcs. (different sizes);
- scotch paint.
Stir well before direct painting. By the way, it is not recommended to dilute the dye by itself. Firstly, you will not pick up the necessary shade, and secondly, you will not be able to mix the paint qualitatively either. Therefore, entrust such work to a better tinting machine.
Gently pour the paint into the cuvette and soak the roller in it. Then roll it over the surface of the cuvette, so that the excess part of the paint remains.
Apply the paint evenly on the walls, when it dries, apply another layer for reliability.
Painting walls is not as difficult as preparing them. If this work is carried out with special responsibility and thoroughness, your bathroom will be no worse than a bathroom decorated with ceramic tiles with expensive decor.
