Most often, repairs in the bathroom do, tiling its walls with tiles. With all the advantages of such a finish, it should be noted that such work is laborious enough. It requires not only patience, but also experience.
Finishing the bathroom with plastic panels is much quicker and cheaper than tiling.
In addition, the purchase of both the tiles and related building materials, not to mention the services of specialists hired for the installation of ceramics, can not "sustain" every budget. True, there are cheaper alternative solutions for finishing the bathroom. Below it will be told how to sew a bath using these technologies.
The bathroom can be faced with moisture-resistant plasterboard or plastic. The same materials need to be sewn and the bath itself, so that a single space for composition is created in the room. It can be added that GCR can become the basis for tiles. In this case, drywall is used by those who do not want to waste time on leveling the walls. The sheets of gypsum material serve as a rough surface for decorative cladding, but plastic panels do not need further development. If you have already chosen from the proposed materials what to sew the bathroom, then you should know that the finish of its walls GKL and PVC panels will reduce the interior space of the room, as both building materials are fastened to the crate.
PVC and GCR without a frame
Scheme of installation of plasterboard for mortar.
In some cases, GCR and PVC are reinforced directly on the walls. But this requires that the surfaces are even. In addition, the walls must be cleaned of fat layers, lagging fragments, dust and dirt. The solution is cracks. After that, the surface is consistently applied to the antifungal formulations and primer. On gypsum cardboard, an adhesive mixture is applied on the basis of gypsum, and PVC panels interact better with liquid nails. It must be said that moisture resistant cardboard before its gluing is better treated with a primer.
Adhesive is applied to these and other panels in two ways. One of them is to glue the sheet around the perimeter and make a few more vertical stripes on the plate. For a smooth wall, this option is ideal. For a surface with irregularities, it is better to apply a point method of applying glue.
At the GCR every 5 cm "cakes" with a height of 5 cm and a diameter of 8-10 cm are glued, they will ensure reliable adhesion of the sheets to the walls. The installation starts at one of the corners. GKL are pressed by the palms, and with the help of the level it is determined how correctly the panels form the plane. On the PVC panel the glue is applied more often, but the drops are much less than the adhesive "cakes" on the drywall. Otherwise, the installation of panels is similar to the installation of GCR. Angle joints of plastic are sealed with a profile.
Plasterboard and plastic for crate
Insufficiently smooth walls will have to be sheathed using a profile. First they are repaired (cracked, fungus removed, etc.). After that, the walls are alternately applied antiseptic and primer.
The scheme of the wall battens.
With a level or plumb bob you need to determine the vertical plane of future walls. The floor and ceiling are marked, and lines are drawn between them. On them to the ceiling and the dowel-nails are nailed guide profiles. They insert racking profiles. The distance between the posts should be 60 cm. If necessary, the racking profiles are fixed to the walls on U-shaped suspensions. Their step should be no more than 60 cm. The design is reinforced with cross bars. All profiles are pulled together with self-tapping screws with press washers. You can lay a heater in the frame, close it with waterproofing and proceed with installation of the GKL.
When installing sheets, it is necessary to maintain a gap between adjacent panels (1-2 mm), as well as between panels and floor (0.5 cm). Screws are screwed in every 15 cm, but from the corners of the GCR, the extreme screws must be removed by 10 cm. The seams and joints are sealed with a sickle. After this, the GCR is ground and processed with putty. Then the finish coat is applied.
Plastic panels on the frame are put somewhat differently. The direction of the profile must be perpendicular to the direction of the PVC panels. Before they finish the bathroom, at the ceiling and floor or opposite sides of the wall to the profiles self-tapping screws are screwed on the starting bars. They are inserted PVC panels, which are fastened with brackets to the crate. Angle joints are closed with additional profiles. At the ceiling, floor, doorway, the panels, skirting boards and platbands are screwed.
It is worth adding that mount the frame in the bathroom is better than metal profiles, than wooden ones.
Tools for plating the bathroom.
In order to decorate the bathroom, you will need:
- UD and CD profiles;
- U-shaped suspensions;
- Self-tapping screws for profile and drywall;
- brackets type 53;
- hammer drill;
Before you finish the bath, you need to build a frame. It is made of metal profile. The dimensions of the frames should correspond to the length and width of the container and the distance from the floor to its rim. The back sides of the crate are pasted with a soft tape, and its ends are attached to the walls by dowel-nails. Between the frames are pulled together by screws. Top and bottom on the frame are installed starting and finishing bars, and they are inserted panels.
The frame for GCR is made more powerful, as gypsum board is heavier than plastic. The lower guide profile is seated on the sealant and screwed to the floor by dowel-nails. Side and top guides are installed.
Vertical guides at the walls are fastened by dowel-nails. Then CD-profiles are inserted and pulled together with the guide screws. The pitch of the racks must match the width of the drywall sheets. If you still have standard width plates, then the distance between the posts is 60 cm. For drain pipelines from CD-profiles, create a frame for the opening.
Drywall is screwed to the crate by screws. In one of the sheets an opening is made according to the dimensions of the opening. It will then be closed with a decorative grille. Sheets should not be adjacent to the floor and rim of the bathtub. After mounting on the seams, a sickle is glued. GKL are treated with a primer and shpaklyuyutsya. The screen is ready for finishing.
Sometimes the bath is shielded from the wall to the wall. In this case, a reinforced frame is placed behind the bathroom. Horizontal profiles are attached to the walls by dowel-nails, and between them a frequent crate is arranged. Vertical clearance between the horizontal plane and the rim of the bath depends on the thickness of the lining.
