Macaroni - is not only a delicious side dish, but also an excellent material for creating all sorts of handicrafts. After all, they are so easy to process, available in large quantities and in many different forms. To children of preschool and school age "pasta needlework" will help develop fine motor skills and visual-motor coordination, but for adults it will become a fascinating hobby. In this material you will find 15 ideas of hand-made pasta, 100 inspirational photo-examples, a few simple instructions and a step-by-step master class on pasta coloring with food colors.
Idea 1. Macaroni Angels
Crafts from pasta in the form of angels can be turned into a garland or a set of Christmas toys. They are made very simply, so you can easily make a whole lot of lovely angels with the child.
- 20 mm wooden ball (for making the head).
- Large tubes or Italian rigatoni (for the robes).
- Wheels or flowers (for the collar).
- Horns (for hands).
- Small stars (for decorating dresses, are also suitable for imitation of hair).
- Ditalini (small tubular pasta for creating hair).
- Bows or butterflies (for wings).
- Glue gun.
First glue the thermo-adhesive wheel to the tube, then the head-ball to the center of the wheel, and under the collar, glue the wings of the bow to the body.
Next, glue hands-horns to the sides of the angel or to the underside of the collar - depending on how the angel will look better with your macaroni.
Now glue the ditalini hair on the ball in several rows. By the way, you can arrange small tube-hair in two ways - across the head and along. And finally, decorate the angel's mantle with stars: one glue on the collar and a few more - on the hem.
Make as many angels as you want, and then paint them. You can come up with your own design of angels or paint them in white as in this master class. To do this, plant the figures on several pencils or wooden skewers, stick them into the foam or into the ground, and then paint the angels with three layers of paint.
When all the figures dry, using a marker with a very thin stem, draw closed eyes and mouth on their faces.
Do you want to make angels even more elegant? Make them a halo of wire and gold beads, and the stars on the mantle are painted with gold paint as shown in the photo.
In the next selection of photos are examples of angels made from pasta of other shapes.
Idea 2. Accessories for hair
Pasta can be so beautiful that you can even decorate your hair. So, for example, the usual rim for hair will become more elegant if you glue on it with spikelets painted with gold spray paint.
Also from the rim and glued together wheels and flowers, you can make a tiara for a little princess.
From butterflies, you can make jewelry for your hair. To do this, they need to be painted, and then glued to invisible, clasps or hairpins.
Idea 3. Jewelery
Here is another idea for ladies - earrings, bracelets, beads and necklaces from pasta. In the next selection of photos you can see examples of design beads for young girls. Such accessories children can make their own hands, even without the help of adults, because there is no need for glue, but only paint and thread.
But such necklaces, earrings and bracelets can be worn not only by young ladies, but also by their mothers.
Adding feathers to pasta beads, you will create decorations for an Indian party or children's games.
Idea 4. Panels and paintings of pasta
From pasta in different sizes, shapes and colors, you can create wall panels or "write" real pictures - portraits, landscapes, still lifes and abstract subjects. There are at least two techniques for making paintings from pasta.
1 way: Find a suitable embroidery scheme on the Internet and pick the same small size pasta. For example, it can be very small tubes or asterisks. Paint the pasta in the right colors (see the master class at the end of the article), and then paste them on the canvas on the stretcher according to the chosen pattern for embroidery. You can glue the parts on PVA glue or thermo-glue (in this case, glue is better applied to macaroni, and not to canvas).
2 way: In manual or with a ready / homemade stencil, draw a sketch on the canvas. Think about what kind of pasta will suit your drawing. For example, spirals are suitable for depicting hair, tubules can represent bricks at home, shells can be themselves, and all small horns, asterisks, etc. can be used to "fill" or "draw" contours. It is also necessary to plan which colors will be used for the picture. Keep in mind that you can make a composition not only from macaroni, but also from cereals and beans. After defining the palette, color the pasta (see the master class at the end of the article), and then glue them in the right order.
In the next selection of photos are examples of panels and paintings from pasta, which can make children, for example, to decorate their room, for school assignments or to give to a loved one.

Idea 5. Garland of Butterflies
Depending on the color of the butterfly macaroni, you can create garlands for the New Year, Easter, child's birthday, Halloween and any themed holiday.
And you can decorate a children's room with such a pasta from pasta.
Make a garland of pasta is very simple. To do this you only need a nice thread, one or two batches of butterflies, as well as paint or glue with sparkles.
However, not only from the bows you can make a garland, fit any curly pasta and straw as in the photo below.

Idea 6. Organizer for office supplies
Any glass and even a tin can be turned into a nice organizer for office trifles. For this you need only pasta, glue and acrylic paints.
Idea 7. Christmas toys
From figured pasta, you can make beautiful Christmas toys with your own hands. So, for example, wheels, flowers and seashells are easily folded into snowflakes. At what combinations of details can be so different, that each ornament on a fur-tree will not be similar to any another.
The principle of creating a pasta snowflake is simple - first the core is made from one or several parts, and then around it 5-6 rays are built from the glued together different or identical macaroni. Before gluing snowflakes, the entire combination must be folded on paper and make sure that all the parts fit together. After the glue dries, you can start painting. If you want to cover the craft with sequins, then you need to do this right after painting, so that the sequins can catch the paint. To better fix the sequins, drizzle the snowflake with hairspray. In the next photo slider, the stages of the work are presented graphically.

Idea 8. Box of pasta
A casket of wheels or flowers may seem like the result of the finest work of the master, but, in fact, everyone can do that with his own hands. To do this, you need to pick up a small box, build the bottom of the box by its dimensions, then collect it around the box walls with the glue of the box wall and finally make a lid of the appropriate size. If desired, you can glue the handles collected from several parts to the sidewalls of the box, and stick the legs to the bottom. Next, the lid and the box should be connected together with pieces of flexible plastic or leather. When the product is ready, it remains only to cover it with paint from the can.
There is an easier way to make a casket of macaroni with your own hands, when the finished casket or box is taken as the basis, and the pasta is used only for decoration.
The main thing here is to create beautiful and accurate patterns and carefully paint both the box itself and the ornaments from pasta. For painting such an article from pasta, it is best to use aerosol cans.
Idea 9. Bookmark for books
Figured macaroni, for example, bows, can perfectly decorate bookmarks for books and textbooks.
To make the bookmark itself, you need to cut out a rectangle from the cardboard, pasted it with scrapbooking paper (or any other beautiful paper), and then laminate the tab with transparent tape.
Macaroni can simply be painted in bright colors and / or covered with sequins as in this master class. To make pasta shiny, you will only need to process them with PVA glue, generously sprinkle with sparkles and brush away excess.
After 2-3 hours, when the glue becomes transparent and dries, the pasta can be pasted onto the bookmarks with the help of an adhesive gun.
Idea 10. Postcards with pasta decor
The same bows or, say, pasta hearts can be used for making postcards by oneself. The principle of operation remains the same as for the production of bookmarks (see Idea No. 9). And here is a selection of photo-examples of "pasta" postcards.
Idea 11. Smart photo frames
Figured macaroni can decorate frames for photos, paintings or posters. For this, only thermo-glue, frame, paints and macaroni itself are required. In the next selection of photos you can get ideas for decorating frames for children and adults.
Idea 12. Lamp shade
With the help of ordinary tubes you can make suspenders for the lamp shade (left photo). With the help of spaghetti or, for example, wheels, you can build a frame shade (right photo). And the macaroni can decorate the finished lamp shade. Such lamps will look good in the kitchen or in the children's room.
Idea 13. Candlestick
You can make a candlestick from pasta in two ways. The first way is to decorate with macaroni any piece or ready-made candlestick.
The second method involves the construction of a candlestick from a variety of pasta, for example, wheels, as in the photo below. "Build" such a candlestick you need around a round or square glass.

Idea 14. Mini-Elka
If you liked the idea of making pasta angels, garlands or Christmas toys, then we suggest adding a collection of New Year decor and a Christmas tree. Such an article will look great on a festive table, console table or mantelpiece.
Prepare thick paper or cardboard, a glass bottle or a large glass, thermo glue, paint in a can (for example, gold), a pack of butterfly macaroni and any additional decor like beads. Cut out of the cardboard a semicircle, roll it into a cone and fix it with glue. Keep in mind that the higher the cardboard height, the higher the tree will be. Put the cone on the bottle, start to stick the butterfly on its bottom edge in one row. Then proceed to the second row, but now place the pasta so that they overlap the gaps in the first row.
Continue to stick butterflies on the same principle to the very top, so that the cone was completely hidden under the Christmas tree branches. When the glue dries, spray the paint on the tree, and then glue the beads to decorate.
In the next selection of photos you can learn other ideas of creating Christmas trees from pasta.

Master class - How to paint pasta
In some cases, crafts made of pasta can and should be painted only after they have been made. For example, if you glue several parts, then the paint will have to cover the gluing places and, possibly, some flaws. For this purpose,
- Acrylic paints;
- Nail polishes;
- Aerosol paints.
But sometimes it is better to paint macaroni in mass and before the beginning of work. For this purpose, all the same standard colors or ... food colorings will do.
Macaroni, colored with food colorings
Below is an instruction how to use them to paint pasta quickly and easily.
- Alcohol or vinegar;
- Food colors in the right colors;
- Closing plastic bags (at the rate of one package for 1 dye);
Step 1. Fill the packages with a lock of pasta about ¼ glass.
Step 2. Add in each package of 2 tbsp. l of alcohol or 3-4 tbsp. l of vinegar in a bag.
Step 3. Add 5 to 10 drops of food color, depending on the intensity of the color you want to achieve. Close the bag, letting out the air.
Step 4. Gently shake the bag so that the dye and alcohol cover all the pasta.
Step 5. Remove the pasta from the bag, transfer it to a napkin or parchment paper and leave to dry completely for 3 hours or overnight.
